Substance Use & Addiction Treatment Assessments
Getting your recovery started
Our primary goal during assessment is to get to know you as a complete person. The assessment process goes beyond your substance use or process addiction-related history, seeking to know more about the areas of your life that are relevant to you.
We work with substance use and process addictions. Process addictions are developed when a person becomes addicted to the feelings of performing a certain action. These actions include gambling, internet use, sex, relationships, spending, and work. We do not treat eating disorders but can refer you to local providers.
The Substance Use and Addiction Recovery Services at The Center for Connection, Healing, and Change offer differing intensity levels to meet the specific needs of each client at every stage of recovery. We have a broad spectrum of services that address relapse prevention, recovery, emotional health, and overall wellness.
Identify the service that fits your needs
The initial assessment is a comprehensive appointment with an assessment specialist. It includes substance use and process addiction screening tests, breath alcohol and urinalysis tests, a bio/psycho/social diagnostic interview and consideration of any other relevant information.
Once we have completed the assessment process we recommend the most relevant level of service for you. Where your relationship with substance use or processes has created severe issues and/or symptoms, we may refer you to a higher level of care before we work with you, such as medical detoxification or inpatient care.
Our programs progressively address the issues and emotions that underlie substance use and process addiction. We want to be sure that clients can tolerate these experiences without being at significant risk of relapse. We seek to set our clients up for success.
To be eligible for our structured services you must be abstinent for 48 hours which will be verified with a breath alcohol test and urine drug screen. All programs require abstinence throughout.
At The Center for Connection, Healing and Change in Woodbridge, VA, we provide independent Alcohol and Drug Assessments and Evaluations.

This structured assessment process utilizes evidence-based protocols. It includes substance use and process addiction screening tests, breath alcohol and urinalysis tests (if required), a bio/psycho/social diagnostic interview and consideration of any other relevant information.
